My Story
"If you can't find the sunshine, BE the sunshine."
That is my life motto and that is exactly what I'm able to do with Scentsy.
My life forever changed when I clicked the "join" button on September 30, 2017. I had no clue what I was doing, what I wanted out of being a consultant, other than knowing I wanted a little extra money every month to be able to spoil myself and maybe pay a bill or two. I never knew what Scentsy would bring me, and trust me, it was a whole lot more than just being able to bring in extra income...
I was born and raised an Ohio gal, grew up on Cincinnati Reds baseball and Skyline Chili. I worked at a local retirement community as a server in skilled nursing and over the years, made my way up to a supervisor. I worked at the same community for nearly 8 years up until 2018, I moved to Santa Barbara, California with my wife. I worked there as a supervisor still in one of the best skilled nursing facilities in Santa Barbara County. We just recently made the decision to move back to the Midwest in Chicago where I am now working for the service department at my local Toyota dealership. During the fall & winter months, you can find me making s'mores 🍫 with my fave nieces and nephews and sippin' hot chocolate while watching the snow fall ❄️
I was first introduced to Scentsy through my cousin (now my sponsor as well). The first scent I ever warmed was By The Sea because it reminded me of the ocean and being on the beach. That was back in 2016 when I was still in Ohio. Never did I think that 5 years later I would have been warming that scent with the beach a mile away from my apartment where I can smell the salt water in the air. I didn’t know much about Scentsy other than the warmers and wax, especially not how it could change my life.
I became a part of the Scentsy family in 2017 when there was a join promotion happening. It was the best $49 I ever spent. I’m a very shy, secluded person. I’ve never worked in sales or retail and certainly didn’t know how direct sales worked. Heck, I didn’t even know what direct sales was until I was introduced to Scentsy. After I joined, I was so excited to start learning. Not only did I learn how to run my own business but I also learned how much confidence in myself I never knew I had. I love getting to know my customers, making samples, and making every single person feel special regardless if they spent $3 or $300. It is always my end goal to make someone smile and I am able to do that with Scentsy. I AM the sunshine.
When you join Scentsy, you’re not just joining another business. You’re joining a family, a family who is always there to cheer you on, to shout out your accomplishments (both Scentsy and personal), and always be there for you whenever you need them. Out of all the clubs, organizations, cheerleading squads I’ve been a part of, none of them made me feel at home like the way Scentsy does.
